MIcromax Bharat 1--Full review

A few months ago, the Jio phone drew all the attention to providing smartphone-like features for the feature phone price. It initiated manufacturers to lower VoLTE compatible devices prices.
One such product is Bharat 1, manufactured by the Indian manufacturer Micromax in collaboration with BSNL to take Jio. Can it provide a competitive balance between costs and features? Read, we have answers.

Micromax supplies the charger and charger supplied with Bharat 1 with a Micro-USB cable. The charging device is 3.5W and lasts for more than three hours to fully charge the phone battery. The detachable Micro-USB cable would have helped transfer files to your computer and computer.

Micromax Bharat 1 specifications and software
Bharat 1 specifications are pretty good for R's. 2 200 phones. It is powered by a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 205 processor and has 512 MB of RAM. There are 4 GB of internal storage space for access to about 2.13 GB. Storage can be expanded on a microSD card slot, and up to 128GB cards are supported. When connected to the computer, the phone enters the default storage mode so you can easily transfer files.

Unlike a Jio phone (check) with only one SIM card slot, Bharat 1 is a dual SIM device. Support for 4G and VoLTE is support, but only with the first SIM card. The SIM card in the second slot is limited to 2G / 3G networks, and there is no way to determine what speeds you will get at any stage. We found that the phone was not locked into any of the operators and worked fine when tested on multiple SIM cards.

Supports Wi-Fi support, which can be accessed on the internet without any mobile data. Support for Wi-Fi hotspot and USB distributions is also supported. You can use Bluetooth to exchange files with other devices. There is no NFC. Surprisingly, you get GPS, but the application is unavailable.

Micromax reported that Bharat 1 runs on a customized Android version. The company did not provide specific details and is not clearly mentioned anywhere, but we found some tips that at least part of the applications, services, and UI elements was designed for Android 4.4 KitKat, which is now many years old. Instead of the application box, there is a tiled menu. and you can all use the D button to navigate and the center button to select. Moving through the menu is easy and the function keys next to the D-pad function as "option" and "back" buttons. Unfortunately, the four buttons on the D-pad have not been mapped as shortcuts that could have helped quickly launch applications.

Bharat 1 has pre-loaded icons for the WhatsApp and Facebook Lite icons, but they have to be downloaded before you can use them. The default is T9 predictive input on the keyboard but you can switch between different input methods. The D-pad can be moved around the cursor for many applications, but it is elastic. For example, WhatsApp is not fully optimized for such phones. On the other hand, we tried a video call to WhatsApp and we could continue the conversation without any problems.

Micromax also provides a link to the YouTube Website, Web Browser, Music and Video Suppliers, File Management, and FM Radio in the Applications menu. Zenga TV is a fun application that gives you access to live tv, video, and movie, but the content you provide is much smaller than what Jion's applications have. Also, the display does not suit viewing content due to size and poor viewing angles.

As this phone uses Android, we tried to download some applications, but Micromax seems to have blocked the application installation. That is not the case, so you can not fully utilize the Android operating system. Unlike the Jio phone, there is no audio driver, and you do not have the ability to connect to a television to view content.

Micromax Bharat 1 performance, cameras, and battery life
Bharat 1's hardware is extremely simple, and the underlying software is not as good as the Android smartphone, so we did not have many expectations. The phone's performance is on average and we saw a delay in doing things like numbers and writing. Even at normal speed, the caller can not register a few numbers at the beginning of the phone number. Pre-installed video player does not support all formats but can play the HD video file we have tested.

The rear camera of Bharat 1 does not have autofocus that is acceptable at its price. We found the viewfinder to be delayed by day and almost unusable in low light. The application is the foundation, and the D-pad lets you change the space and zoom. You can also use the application to change the white balance and set the exposure level and the timer as needed. Locations use a GPS chip on the device.

The setting switches back and the selfie cameras are buried in the settings list; quick switching would have been more user-friendly. These cameras are hardly functional and the output looks good only when viewed on the small screen of Bharat 1. Photos are missing details, and most of them run out of focus if you do not fully stick to the shutter click. We also saw hue in most photos indoors. Both front and rear cameras can record video at VGA (640x480) resolution, but the output is not standard.
