Xiaomi is widely expected to work in the field of its
renowned Redmi Note 4, believed to be launching as Redmi Note 5. Today, a
Chinese e-commerce retailer Oppomart is listed on Redmi Note 5 with tipping
specifications an imminent launch. Xiaomi's Manu Kumar Jain, VP and Managing
Director Xiaomi India has tweeted out teasing the launch of a new product.

According to the listed details, the alleged Xiaomi
Redmi Note 5 will run on MIUI 9 based on Android 7.1 OS out-of-the-box. It will
strengthen a 5.99-inch display with 1080x2160 pixels resolution, and as rumored
for the week, features an aspect ratio of 18: 9. Oppomart listing teases Redmi
Note 5 powered by Snapdragon 625 The processor seems like an old chipset
considering Snapdragon 630 is now out. The handset is said to come with 3GB RAM
with 32GB storage and 4GB RAM with 64GB storage. In the front camera, there is
a 12-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. The dual-SIM Redmi
Note 5 is said to pack 4000mAh battery.
The Oppomart list seems to pull now but it certainly
points to a possible launch in the coming weeks. The list of Oppomart was first
seen by The Leaker. The new list comes days after a placeholder is found on
JD.com.
Xiaomi announced the reduction in the price of its
prominent Redmi Note 4, and it may be a signal indicating the launch of its
successor. Redmi Note 4 is one of the leading smartphone sellers for Xiaomi
this year.
Additionally, Jain shared a teaser on Twitter hinting
at launching a new product, teasing the 'i' letter. At this point, it's not
clear if the new device is a smartphone but we can expect it to get more clarity
in the coming weeks. The teaser of Jain also proves a fact that it focuses on
the Indian market.
