Xiaomi New Power bank 2i Launched-Complete price and spec

Days after having teased a new "I" product, Xiaomi launched the Mi Power Bank 2i Series Tuesday as the first "Made in India" power bank in the country. The Chinese company has its third production facility located in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, after the two smartphone production plants in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, to produce the new series of power banks locally in the country together with Shenzhen-based Hipad Technology.

Expansion of the existing Mi Power Bank 2 family that was launched in June includes the 10000mAh Mi Power Bank 2i and 2000mAh Mi Power Bank 2i. The 10000mAh Mi Power Bank 2i is priced at Rs. 799, while the 20000mAh Mi Power Bank 2i comes with a price tag of Rs. 1.499. Both new models will be available from November 23 via Mi.com and Mi Home Stores. After the first sale, the Power Bank 2i range is available in all Mi Preferred Partner stores and all large format retail partners in December.

Both 10000mAh Mi Power Bank 2i and 20000mAh Mi Power Bank 2i have lithium polymer batteries, dual USB outputs and smart control chips powered by Texas Instruments. Between the two, the 10000mAh Mi Power Bank 2i sports a double anodized aluminum design with 14.2mm thickness. The power bank is touted to have a conversion rate of up to 85 percent. In contrast, the 20000mAh Mi Power Bank 2i comes in a polycarbonate casing and incorporates Quick Charge 3.0 technology for a faster loader experience.

The Manu Kumar Jain of Xiaomi, who addressed the media before hosting the visit to the new facility, emphasized that the new range is identical to the existing Mi Power Bank 2 models, through nine levels of rigorous quality testing - with three levels of process inspection at each stage. Jain, head of Xiaomi India, said that the sale of her Mi Power Bank range in the country is four times as high as that of Lenovo, which is third in the area of leading power bank companies in the Indian market. He also pointed out that fake versions of the original Mi Power Bank models surpass traditional competitors in the country and so far represent the second position in the total power bank space.

To address the problem of counterfeit models, Xiaomi has started using a hologram and security code that allows customers to identify the real models from the mix.

"Our power banks have smart functions that make them the competition," Jain told.
The plan to set up a new facility for the production of the new Mi Power Bank series in the country was outlined last year. The team at Xiaomi India discussed the strategy with Hipad Technology, the company that already produces Mi Power Bank models in China, and has finally started the new facility. The manufacturer has four facilities in China that, in addition to power banks for worldwide markets, also produce brand smartphones.

"We transfer the benefits we receive through the new facility to the supply chain and import taxes to our customers," says Jain.

Spread over a total area of 2.3 square meters, the Noida plant has a production capacity of seven energy batteries per minute - considerably higher than what Xiaomi initially had in the Chinese region. There are currently more than 500 employees in the factory, Xiaomi and Hipad Technology are planning to expand the workforce by taking on new talent. Jain claimed that more than 70 percent of people working at the local facility is B.Tech. He also revealed that the company is currently using locally produced packaging material and plans for a local tender for SMT (surface-mount technology) that would begin sometime next year.
