Xiaomi reviewed on Friday the prices of the Mi accessories selected as a result of the implementation of GST (tax on goods and services) in India. With the new development, the Mi Power Bank, My Business Backpack, My Charger, 2 in 1 USB fan and several smartphone cases are now available with revised prices. The new announcement comes days after the Chinese company announced the establishment of its third manufacturing facility in the country that was designed to produce electric banks.
"The GST board announced a GST rate cut and it's time we gave the benefits to our beloved My Fans, now you can get your favorite accessory at the price you've dreamed of," Xiaomi wrote in a post on its My Forums. Community.
Among the accessories that received the price cut, the Mi Power Bank 2 10000mAh is now available for Rs. 1,099 (originally priced at Rs.1,199), the 10000mAh My Power Bank Pro is available for Rs. 1,499 (debuted at Rs. 1,599), and the 20000mAh Mi Power Bank 2 has a price of Rs. 1,999 (previously available for Rs. 2,199). The price drop also applies to My Business Backpack that arrived in the country in Rs. 1,499. Now it is available for Rs. 1,299.
The Mi Charger that comes with 5V / 2A output is available for Rs. 349 (originally available for Rs. 399), while the Mi Mi Charger has a price of Rs. 699 (released in Rs. 799) and the USB cable is available with a price of Rs. 179 (previous price at Rs. 199). In addition, the USB 2-in-1 cable that has a USB Type-C and Micro-USB port on one end and a USB port type A on the other end is available for Rs. 249 (originally priced at Rs. 299). The My USB fan, which was launched in October 2015 by Rs. 249, is now available for Rs. 229
In addition to the cut in the prices of Mi accessories, Xiaomi has reduced the prices of covers and screen protectors for its various models of smartphones. For example, you can choose a Redmi 4 hard case for Rs. 349 (originally available for Rs. 449), while a Redmi Y1 Perforated Case is available for Rs. 349 (previously released in Rs. 399). The Smart View Flip Case and Software Case models from Redmi Note 4 and Mi Max 2 also received the new prices in the country.
All accessories, cases and screen protectors with the new price tags are available at Xiaomi's My India store. However, at the time of the presentation of this story, Amazon.in and Flipkart must still update the prices of the Mi accessories included.
Earlier this week, Xiaomi launched its new Mi Power Bank 2i range in India that was manufactured through its third facility located in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, after the two initial factories in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. The Mi Power Bank 2i 10000mAh is priced at Rs. 799, while 20000mAh My Power Bank 2i is available for Rs. 1,499.
